Quartets from the Jeffersonland Chorus will be supporting the 15th annual Spirit Walk, a guided history tour of Historic Charlottesville. The Quartets will be singing historical barbershop tunes in the same settings where the may have been heard in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC
November 19, 2009: 12:30pm & 7:30pm

In commemoration af Lincoln's delivery of the Gettysburg Address, the Jeffersonland Chorus will be joining several other choruses for a special event to celebratation at the Lincoln Memorial. November 19 was selected because that is the date of the delivery of the Gettysburg address in 1863.

The Jeffersonland Chorus will be singing "An American Trilogy" which consists of Dixie, Battle Hymn of the republic, and a Negro Spiritual. The American Trilogy was made popular by Elvis Presley. The arrangement the Jeffersonland Chorus will be singing has been performed by the Barbershop Harmony Society International Chorus Champoins, Vocal Majority. The chorus will be joined by several other choruses from the DC area to sing the National Anthem, God Bless America, and Gettysburg.

The entire show will last 90 minutes. Come join us for this historic celebration.
