Come and Join the Fun!

  • Have you ever been interested in Barbershop music but not sure if you could sing it?
  • Have you ever wanted to try singing in a quartet?
  • Have you ever wanted to perform for an audience?
  • Have you ever wanted to sing a cappella music?
  • Barbershop singing can be a great way to learn and improve your singing ability.

The Jeffersonland Barbershop Chorus is always looking for men of all ages who like to sing and have a good time. This includes high school and college students!

The chorus meets at the St. Mark Lutheran Church at the corner of Ivy and Alderman, at 7:30 PM on Monday nights. Feel free to attend one of our rehearsals and try us out. We have guest books of current music. We can team you up with people singing the same part and you can try singing as much or as little as you like.

If you find that it is something you wish to pursue, we do have a short audition process to ensure you can cover the basics and we will definitely help you learn the music to make it a success for everyone involved.

For more information, please call Art Grahame at 434-263-4378.

Rehearsals are open to the public so anyone is invited to come and listen if that is their pleasure. Visitors are also welcome to sit in and sing a few songs with the chorus or quartet during a rehearsal if you just want explore the waters.

A typical rehearsal consists of an opening song, working on new music, singing a few songs already in the repertoire, and having fun with a few tags, which are the melodious endings to many barbershop songs. You may also find us working on quartet singing with such activities as impromptu "Tap Out" quartets.
