JLC Scores Well at
Southern Division Contest
The
Jeffersonland Barbershop Chorus scored very well at the 2008 Southern
Division Contest held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Reston, Virginia. With
a score of 64.7%, the group placed in sixth place overall out of 14
choruses.
This
year, the chorus did a baseball theme singing a special arrangement of Take
Me Out to the Ball Game and Heart.
Dave
Rogers, our new director arranged Take Me Out to the Ball Game
to include parts of the famous Abbot and Costello comedy sketch and an off
timing segment that got a great reaction from a very informed audience. The
judges all liked the theme and the way it was carried out.
This
was Dave's first competition with the JLC and all the members were very
impressed with the results.
